LAZY B LIVESTOCK

Trevor and his 4 siblings were raised on a commercial livestock operation in Grande Prairie, AB run by Robert and Dorene Binks.
Trevor got his first purebred Herford heifer when he was 10 years old and through his teens he had several purebred animals he showed at 4H shows and county fairs. He continued into his adulthood with a small commercial herd from descendants of the family farm.
In 2008 he acquired his own brand and farm name.....Lazy B Livestock was born.
Melanie hails from a gold mining family in the Yukon Territory. She met Trevor in 2011 and although farming was not a part of her livelihood, the cattle industry quickly became natural to her. Together they purchased LBL's first purebred Red and Black Angus animals. Since that time they have purchased seed stock Angus from across Alberta and British Columbia, growing their herd and calving out exceptional animals.
Both Trevor and Melanie have been certified in Cattle Insemination. They stay extremely busy with full time jobs off the farm, cattle shows around the peace country and growing their herd. Between them they have 4 beautiful grown kids and their spouses, along with 4 amazing grandkids!
"Our goal is to produce and sell quality commercial and purebred angus cattle, with honesty and integrity, throughout the Peace Country, through private treaty sales off the farm"
Joe is a twin out of one of our top notch Blackbird cows that raised both him and his brother with impressive WW’s. His actual BW was 71 lbs and he weaned off Sept 17th at 620 lbs. At no point did we ever supplement either twin, the cow managed quite well on her own. Joe is a very thick, square, solid, impressive hind end of our lots. You have to appreciate him for his depth and demeanor and structural correctness.
This bull is out of one of our successful show cows. His Damn is beautifully developed, sure footed with a perfect udder. He’s a ranchy bull that was sired by Harvest Admiral 8C. With an 89lb BW, weaning off Sept 17th at 770, this bull is well on his way to being a solid herd sire.
This bull is very thick from top to bottom. His scrotal development and structure make him a real eye catcher. We sold a ½ brother to Brayden Rycroft about 4 years ago and he doesn’t disappoint. He is product of a few generations of our AI program and we are very pleased with his development. If he wasn’t related to ½ our herd, he would be staying
If you are looking for a thick hearty bull that can cover your pasture, this is your guy. He is sure footed, well muscled and can cover all sorts of terrain. His Damn is a red carrier. He had a lot of compliments at the Peace Country Beef Congress this year as he is quite stylish.
Kingpins Damn is out of one of our first acquired RED cows. She is a 12 year old powerhouse cow, standing tall and strong. She has produced everything from power bulls to heifer bulls and Kingpin is somewhere in the middle, depending on what we bred her to. With an 87lb BW, we are confident in CE in young cows. Last year Brent & Kim Knickle added a heifer bull out of this cow to their herd and are quite pleased with him. His color and stature is Harvest Admiral 8C.
This is another bull from an older show cow that has stood the test of time, LBL Khaleesi 1C. He is a Harvest Admiral 8C son with a 87lb BW. A good square bull with lots of volume. His EPD chart shows easier CE and heavier WW. He is more of a moderate sized bull that needs to be seen to be appreciated. Rainey Ranch from Lone Prairie, BC purchased a full sibling heifer as a 4H project last in 2021 and were very pleased with her.
SAV Renovation 6822 is a bull used to improve maternal traits and solid body composition. His first progenies are reporting added performance in the bull calves and an attractive look to his females. LBL’s Renovation seems to be following in his sires footsteps with a tonne of hip to him.
This Mulberry Bull is a very smooth shouldered bull with an actual 87 lb BW. His damn is one of our favourite cookie eating loveable creatures in the yard. She is a large and in-charge, well milking cow who continues to produce quality offspring. The best way to appreciate this bull is to see him, and his brother, in person.
Intel is a very long bodied and structurally correct bull. His sires calves are consistently low BW and CE. LBL Intels actual BW was 76 lbs and weaned off Sept 17th at 764 pounds, out of one of our first time calving heifers. He should give you impressive calving options with added growth.
We were very fortunate to acquire some Red Fineline Mulberry 26P semen. This bull is a “breed legend worldwide known for his perfect uddered daughters and thick easy doing sons”. It’s not too often that a bull from the Peace Country like Van Gaalen’s makes it to stardom. Red LBL Mulberry 12B 3K is a deep bodied bull out of a moderate well milking mature cow, built for longevity. A Donaldson Ranch purchased a 1/2 maternal brother to this bull and have been extremely pleased.
The matriarch of our herd, 61Y, has done it again! This tremendously thick, balanced bull is out of our first black angus cow at Lazy B. 61Y has produced several working bulls for satisfied customers throughout the Peace Country. If you have large cows and are worried about using a yearly, this is the guy for you. This large framed Admiral son stretches out in all directions. He will make a great cow bull for anyone.
BW 96 lbs Actual WW 796 lbs
This is the first time we have used Long Distance as an AI sire and we are very pleased with the outcome. His feet and leg structure are outstanding and his disposition is exceptional. Super smooth on the front end and although his BW dictates he is not a heifer bull, I would not hesitate to use him on any of our heifers. His Actual WW was 714 lbs oct 11 2021.
BW 90 lbs
We love this deep bodied, fleshy correct bull. Radiance has an outstanding phenotype showcasing some of the best natural muscle and shape that we have seen in a calving ease bull. He has tremendous sound structure, solid disposition and outstanding feet and legs. We believe Radiance is the most balanced bull on offer. His Dam goes back to the Harvest Angus Jo Jo line that was sired by Belvin Cognac, a great heifer bull.
BW 81 Actual WW 720 lbs
A smaller bull that makes up for his size with his structurally correct frame and disposition. This bull travels nicely on sound feet and straight legs. When touring our bull pen, this bull always catches your eye, as he has so much potential. He is a slower maturing bull that will be a great heifer bull.
BW 80 lbs Actual WW 602 lbs
This unique RED bull is the product of a Black Dam and a Black Sire that were both red carriers. With RED TER-RON Fully Loaded in his pedigree, Loaded Pride is a long, tall ranchy bull can cover all sorts of terrain. He is sure footed, well muscled and sound on straight legs. He weaned off Oct 3 2021 at 788 lbs with a modest BW of 85 lbs.
Moonshine is a prodigy out of a Moonshine herd sire we acquired from Rafter SJ. We wanted to add some volume and depth to our red angus side and by looking at this bull, we seem to have achieved just that. A great all-around bull that checks off maternal calving ease and heavier WW and YW.
BW 70 lbs Actual WW 678 lbs
We AI’d one of our powerhouse cows to a super calving ease bull, Leland Marksman. This dam has produced everything from power bulls to heifer bulls. Marksman creates great calving ease without sacrificing body capacity, density or growth. With roots going back to Fine Line Combination and Leland Marksman, this bull will be sure to produce exceptional calves.
BW 83 lbs Actual WW 700 lbs
A big framed RB Tour Of Duty son stretching out in all directions This guy will be able to cover your herd and check off all the boxes.
Out of Northline Heavy Joe 76D, known for extended body length and smooth front. Great all around bull.
Deep body, fleshy, correct bull. His pedigree is full of SAV Shaft breeding with the names of Radiance, Harvester, Net Worth and Bismark.
All the Angus Cattle to be sold at Lazy B are halter broke for easier handling. A calm environment with consistent handling creates great temperments.
Our Cattle are socialized around other animals and people year round.
The coffee is always on and a herd walk is never out of the question!
